What ReelLang processes to run your account, and what stays on your computer.

Last updated: 4 October 2026

1. Who is responsible

The ReelLang operator identified below is responsible for personal information handled through the ReelLang website, account and licensing service. Paddle separately handles purchase information as merchant of record under its own privacy notice.

2. Your recordings and optional providers

ReelLang records and renders on your computer. Our licensing service does not receive your scripts, browser recordings, saved takes or exported videos as part of normal recording and rendering. Local diagnostics and saved browser sessions may contain private content; review them before sharing them with anyone.

Your coding agent may send prompts, files or screenshots to its provider under your agent settings. If you enable a speech, transcription or other external integration, the content needed for that feature is sent to the provider you select. Visiting a website during recording also connects to that website. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices.

If you voluntarily send us a support attachment, we receive that attachment. Send only what is needed and remove passwords, cookies, access tokens and sensitive footage.

Optional feedback inbox

Feedback is sent only when you approve a prepared report. It contains your message, selected text attachments, account identifier and basic CLI and operating-system version information. No recordings, videos, browser sessions or files are collected automatically. Review the full preview; automatic redaction cannot guarantee removal of every secret.

Text attachments expire after 30 days. Ticket text and internal support notes are removed 180 days after closure; open tickets are reviewed after 180 days. Scheduling account deletion pauses access immediately. After the 30-day recovery period, permanent closure queues ordinary feedback content for removal. You can request removal of individual items through support without closing your account. Security audit receipts contain identifiers and actions, not message contents, and expire after one year. Private investigation copies are deleted at task completion or within seven days. Historical backups expire under the service’s backup retention schedule; removal from live storage does not erase older snapshots immediately. Restoration requires deletion reconciliation or removal of restored feedback before the inbox reopens.

3. Information the service processes

  • Account information: your email address, profile or account name, account identifiers and account creation or change dates.
  • Sign-in and security information: session identifiers, sign-in verification records, IP addresses, browser information, request timestamps, email sending status and rate-limit or abuse-prevention records.
  • License and installation information: your license status, eligible update period, installation identifier and name, a product-specific hash of the computer’s platform identifier, activation or revocation dates, license-check requests, and protected credential records used to authorize licensing, downloads and updates. The raw platform identifier stays on your computer; checks do not send footage, scripts or browser content.
  • Purchase information: purchase type, amount, status, transaction references, payment or refund events and entitlement history. Paddle collects payment and billing details directly; ReelLang does not receive your full card number or card security code.
  • Support information: your messages, contact details and any diagnostic material you choose to provide.

Account details come from you, technical information comes from your interactions with the service, and purchase confirmations come from Paddle. An email address is needed to sign in; purchase and license records are needed to provide paid access.

4. Why we use this information

We use account, purchase and installation information to deliver the service you request: sign-in, licenses, downloads, updates, refunds and support. Where data protection law requires a legal basis, this processing is necessary to perform our agreement with you or take steps you request before purchase.

We use limited technical and security information to protect accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate failures and recover the service. Our legitimate interests are operating a secure, reliable service and protecting customers. We retain or disclose records where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal information or use your recordings for advertising or model training. The website does not currently include advertising pixels or optional audience analytics. Automated checks validate payments, licenses and security requests; contact us if a check incorrectly prevents access so we can review it.

5. Cookies and service providers

We use a necessary sign-in cookie to keep your account session active. Sessions expire after 30 days and can be refreshed while you use the service. Signing out invalidates the current session. Blocking necessary cookies prevents sign-in.

Cloudflare provides website hosting, account database and software storage, transactional email delivery, and security checks. Turnstile processes technical browser and device signals to distinguish legitimate requests from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and its Turnstile privacy notice.

Paddle handles checkout, payment, taxes, payment fraud checks and refunds. Its checkout may use cookies and similar technologies for those functions. See Paddle’s privacy notice.

Fastmail hosts our support mailbox and processes email correspondence and attachments. We also use Microsoft Outlook to access and manage support email. See Fastmail’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement.

Providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, transfers must use an applicable adequacy decision, approved contractual safeguards or another lawful transfer mechanism. Contact us for information about the safeguards that apply to your data.

We may disclose necessary information to professional advisers or authorities when legally required, to protect rights and security, or in a business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.

6. Retention and account closure

We keep active account and license records while needed to provide your account and access to eligible software. Sign-in links expire after 10 minutes. Expired verification, activation and session records are eligible for removal by service maintenance; expiry is not a promise of immediate deletion from every backup.

Account deletion requires a fresh email verification code. After you confirm, we sign out existing sessions, pause online access and schedule permanent closure for 30 days later. We email the deadline and recovery instructions. Sign in and explicitly cancel deletion before that deadline to keep your account and eligible purchases; signing in alone does not cancel it. Existing support credentials remain revoked after recovery. At the deadline, recovery ends. Scheduled maintenance replaces the profile name and email and permanently revokes installations and online license access. Purchase, refund, license-operation and closure records remain where needed for financial records, disputes, fraud prevention and preventing an old payment or credential from reopening a closed account. A protected representation of the former email is retained for that security purpose; it is not a mailing list.

Successful sign-in timestamps and outgoing email status metadata are kept for 30 days, then removed by bounded scheduled maintenance. Account closure removes these records. These email logs do not contain message bodies, sign-in links or verification codes.

Support correspondence is retained while needed to resolve the request and related disputes. Retention is assessed against the service purpose, applicable recordkeeping duties and limitation periods. Restricted recovery backups can retain earlier records until the backup is replaced or expires. Closure does not erase your local recordings, software or files, or independently held Paddle records.

7. Your choices and rights

Use account settings to update your profile, export account information or close your account. For a privacy request or an export that cannot be completed online, contact the operator below. We may need to verify that the request is yours.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or receive a portable copy of your information, restrict processing, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Some records must be retained for legal or security reasons; we will explain any applicable limitation. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Requests about payment information independently held by Paddle can be made directly to Paddle. ReelLang is intended for people legally able to purchase and use the service and is not directed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its revision date when our practices change. Material changes affecting your account will be communicated through the service or account email.
