The agent playbook

A short path to a great demo.

Tell your coding agent what to show. It can set up ReelLang, record your browser and refine the result on your computer.

Start with your agent

Set up /agent.md

Your agent will read the setup and update guide. Download your official archive from Home, then let it help with installation. Enter activation codes privately in Terminal, never in chat.

Checking access options…

From a story to a finished video

  1. Describe your audience, the workflow and the result you want to show. Share the website and any existing product context.
  2. Let your agent rehearse and record locally. Sign in to the target website yourself when needed; browser access stays on your computer.
  3. Review the video, request changes and export at 60 FPS. Saved recordings can be reused for presentation edits.

Prefer the commands?

1. Install and activate

Sign in to Home to see your access and download an eligible release for macOS. A source checkout and Docker are unnecessary. If your platform has no published release, installation is not available yet.

On macOS, with dependencies already installed, use the actual archive path:

npm install --global "/path/to/reellang-local-VERSION.tgz"
reellang setup --install-browser

Setup checks dependencies and explains how to install FFmpeg if needed. Check reellang license status first and keep an existing valid license. Otherwise, generate a one-time activation code in your account, then run:

reellang license activate

Enter the code at the private prompt. After activation, rendering works locally with an automatic license check during use, normally once a day. No administrator permission is needed for device binding.

2. Make your first demo
reellang init --example
reellang run first-video/demo.yaml --fps 60
reellang guide

Try the bundled example, inspect the result, then ask your agent to explore and record your product. Use direct image dissolves and keep output.fade: false.

3. Let your agent maintain ReelLang

Allow routine updates once and your agent can check before each authoring session. It can install a verified eligible release before work starts, then check dependencies again. It must never interrupt a recording or export, or purchase access without your explicit authorization.

reellang doctor --json
reellang update --check --json

When offline or outside your update period, keep using an entitled installed release while its license lease is valid. For recovery, download an older eligible archive from release history and run doctor again after installation.

What stays local

Your scripts, browser sessions, recordings and rendered videos stay on your computer. ReelLang contacts this service for activation and requested updates. Optional speech and AI integrations use the providers and credentials you choose.
